There's No Place Like Home for the Holidays

In this often busy season of wishing and shopping and cooking and gathering, most of us can agree that there really is no place like home for the holidays.

A warm fire crackling in a fireplace. Soft holiday music streaming through the house. Cinnamon and vanilla goodness wafting from the kitchen. Friends and families gathering together, making merry and being grateful for it all.

When our homes are cozy, we are content. As a homebody myself, it is comforting to arrive home and kick off my shoes, enjoying the sights and sounds of my familiar environment.

Contentment is a state of mind. We can easily become dissatisfied during the holidays, longing for more than we can afford, wishing we hadn't put off redoing our floors before company comes. Or we can embrace every imperfection of our home, knowing our visitors are coming to see US, not our home.
